Going Slow or Eaten by Mosquitos
This morning I was awoken by the angry chatterings of a Douglas Tree Squirrel outside. I poked my head out the window and looked down below. Sure enough there was a one jealously guarding the knothole feeder from a Western Gray Squirrel. I crawled out of bed still bleary with sleep and grabbed my camera gear.
Before going outside I set up the camera on the tripod with the legs fully extended and the camera ready to go so there would be no fiddling with it. I went out into the backyard and slowly approached the feeder a few feet at a time. Every time the squirrel would go down into the feeder I would move a few steps closer. I got closer and closer. Taking a few images as I went. Suddenly I began to notice that while I was photographing the squirrel the mosquitos were feeding on me. Yikes! I stubbornly kept at it for a few more images and then I fled to the safety of the indoors.
God's light and love to all,
chris
