The Labor Day holiday in the U.S. is a three day weekend that marks the unofficial end to summer for most people living there. Last minute vacations are taken. People close up their summer cabins and put away their boats until next summer. Many towns and cities close their municipal pools. Here where we swim it is the last day the life guards will be on duty. Here the lifeguard sits attentive until her last moment of doing duty. Another summer gone by.
