Harmless Little lady
Last of the forgotten creatures of the woodpile. It's amazing how many creatures can make use of a pile of wood. Here is a Wood Scorpion that I placed on a rock to photograph and then let go into the forest. I found four in the pile but this was the biggest one. I have discussed these scorpions before on my photoblog. Their sting is similar to a bee sting unless of course you are allergic to them. I have no plans of finding that out! A couple of weeks back I stepped on one barefoot in our sunroom. I couldn't figure out what was wiggling under my foot. I was rather shocked when I pulled my foot up to see a scorpion scuttle away. Luckily it didn't sting me. God's love and blessings to all, chris all images photographed with a Canon 7D and a 100mm macro lens. Lighting was provided by two Alien Bee 1600 Studio lights.
