Artifact from a Vanished Culture
Last week while driving around photographing I stopped to create a picture. I looked down at my feet to find a grinding stone. Grinding stones were used by Native American tribes particularly in California to grind acorns into meal. Most likely it is of Pomo origin as there were many tribes in Mendocino County where I live. It's really neat to think of the hands that labored long ago grinding acorns with this stone. In fact I know native Pomo that I'm going to give this to as they will really appreciate it.
God's love and blessings to all,
chris
