In the Land of Fairies
This morning Jay and I went for a hike on one of the local trails. It was actually more like he hiked and I kept stopping to photograph. The best thing about the hike was that the Fairy Slippers were blooming in abundance. They are known by a few other names as well, Calypso Orchid and Venus's Slipper. They aren't very big which is probably why they are often called Fairy slippers. They are so delicate and incredibly beautiful when viewed close up. I also photographed some fungi and some other early blooming wilfdlowers.
May your day be blessed,
chris

I love this collection, but my favorite is the little mushroom! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Cheri-Ann Johnson. The last time I walked this trail a few weeks ago I didn't have my camera with me and I saw quite a few mushrooms like this. So that's what I was actually looking for today. Instead I found lots of Fairy Slippers and only one little mushroom.
ReplyDeleteExquisite..you are the best photographer! My Dad was an amateur photographer before the digital age. He took b&w weddings for people. Long ago now.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much , Maggie Ann. Weddings in B+W would have been a lot of work. It takes quite a bit of skill to process the film and make the prints from them. He must have been very talented!
