One of the most beautiful birds around my house is the Rainbird AKA Varied thrush. I call them Rainbirds because that is when I see them the most. Otherwise they are one of the more secretive birds rarely showing themselves and always quickly flitting back into the brush and trees when they are spotted. Except that is when it rains. During the rain or heavy fog they come out into my front yard in groups of three to five and prance all over the yard feeding. Today it is raining and snowing out so there they were in my front yard. They are indeed a beautiful bird.
