Went Off Skiing

I love to ski and I rarely go due to the distance and the cost involved. I grew up in a skiing family in Colorado so it is in my blood. Over the end of the three day weekend we drove up to South Shore and skied one day at Sierra at Tahoe. That's Sierra Ski Ranch for any old time skiers out there. The weather was perfect and the snow was a bit crusty. We had blast flying down the slopes! Today I'm a bit sore but it was worth it.We met up with my cousin Robyn Gralicer and her boyfriend Kevin Krueckemeier. They ski there a lot so they were great tour guides and instructors. We had a great time walking around south shore and we topped it off with a nice dinner. When we left Tahoe in the morning the next day in the early afternoon there was no sense of the the incoming storm that was supposed to have hit the night before. We stopped at the top of Echo Summit and played in the snow. Soon after we headed down the pass and just past Camp Sacramento we ran into the full brunt of the storm.Snow began sticking and soon there was almost two inches of snow on the roadway. Luckily for us a snow plow pulled out onto the highway in front of us and we were able to follow it.Four wheel drive was needed and soon we began to see cars stuck off of the road without chains and fender benders here and there. Eventually we crawled to lowlands and the weather was clearing. Traffic headed the other way was backed up for miles and miles. I'm looking forward to going again soon. God bless and safe trips, chris
