Hummingbirds and Sunsets

The past few days the sunsets have been spectacular. Here in Northern California we don't get many clouds in the summer. When we do it makes for some awesome sunsets. They are just the most intense red imaginable. I've also started chasing after those addictive hummingbirds again. I made the mistake of forgetting to restock the feeders for a couple of days when I ran out of sugar and most of them moved on. The pickings were rather slim yesterday with only two hummingbirds showing up.I guess I'll have to wait for the fall migration for more to show up. God's blessings to all, chris All images created with a Canon 7D and a Canon 100-400 IS lens Please check out my forthcoming book available for preorder on Amazon and other fine book sellers. It has a great how to chapter on hummingbird photography http://www.amazon.com/Secrets-Backyard-Photography-Chris-Hansen/dp/1937538559

    1. Thank you so much Julie! I'm getting better at it. Still a little bit of trial and error on what works best. So much easier than when I used to shoot film! Now I can easily check a set up without having to wait a week to get my slides back to see what is working..

  2. For once the hummingbirds look almost dull. It's those amazing sunsets outshining them!

    1. Thank you very much Charlotte. We have been really lucky this summer to get so many beautiful sunsets. Usually most of our best sunsets are during winter. Thank you Lord for the clouds!
