World Wetland Day
The wind is blowing and the rain is coming down in ragged sheets. A great day to stay inside by the woodstove. Today is "World Wetland Day" in recognition of the importance of the worlds wetlands. I dug back in the files for this one. It is a Western Pond Turtle photographed at the Teichert Ponds in Chico CA last year. This turtle is a species of concern and is currently sliding towards endangered status in the western United States.
