Another Beastie

Last night I went through the house clicking and turning off lights before going to bed. As I walked down the steps into the living room I noticed this scorpion waiting for me at the very bottom. It was on the alert with the claws and stinger in the up and ready position. I made an abrupt one eighty (not like it's going to chase me down and stab me or anything) and grabbed a jar from the kitchen shelf. I walked back to the living room and scooped it up. This morning I photographed it on some dry leaves before I put it back out into the forest. God's love and blessings to you all, chris

Back to the Woodpile

It seems like when ever I stack wood or get wood from the woodpile I almost always find something there to photograph. Today when I was filling the wood box in preparation for the incoming storm I found a whole nest of Bark Beetles. Bark beetles don't really have nests. Let's just say there was a whole bunch in one spot. There was one big one that was almost double the size of the others that I just had to photograph. I set it aside and made some images of it this afternoon.
