Back to the Pikas and Throwing in a Dog as Well

One day with the Pikas was not enough. My broher Eric and I headed up to rocky Mountain Park the following morning as well. It was a beautiful day with soft morning light. We both came home with some nice Pika images. Later that morning we took his Labrador, Sadie, to the Estes Park dog park. Wow, can Sadie run. Eric only managed to hit me twice with the ball when he was throwing the ball for his dog! I think he did it on purpose. God's blessings upon your day, chrisAll the Pika images were taken with a Canon 7D mkII and a Tamron 150-600 with a broken front lens element anda loose mount from dropping it on the concrete. The dog park images were done with a Canon 7D mkII and a 8mm Rokinon manual lens.

Mitzi

I was editing files today and I ran across an old favorite of mine. This was Mitzi my son Jay's dog. She was a family favorite as well. That dog had us wrapped around her little paws.Sadly she had a short life as she was killed by a Mountain Lion one evening right by our house.Even though this happened a few years back she is still missed by all of us. We do still have Sir Lance the Lab, Badger the Worthless Wonder Dog and Mango the Bearded Cat to keep us company. That's more than enough pets to keep us happy. God's precious love to all, chris

Going to the Dogz

Today was relativeley uneventful. I got up and took Annika to school and then went and worked out at the gym. I had planned to photograph deer on the way home but then a bunch of stuff got in the way of that. I had to do some grocery shopping and pay a bill. When I arrived home I put all the groceries in their proper places and then pulled out the crockpot and commenced to make "Chicken Chipotle" for tonight's dinner. By the time I finished I wasn't in the mood to chase deer as the lighting was pretty iffy.

Next I sorted images from Annika's volleyball game yesterday to give to her coach. Following that I looked outside and thought to myself. Why not get a couple of portraits of the dogs? So I grabbed a couple of doggie biscuits, a black backdrop along with my camera, the dogs of course and that is what I did. I hope you enjoy them. Let me know what you think by adding a comment.

Now to go clean the house. Woot! Woot!

God's blessings to all,

chris

Dog Days of August

The past two days have been almost unbearably hot in the afternoon and evening. It was 105 degrees fahrenheit yesterday when I drove past the bank in big downtown Willits. Our dogs have been climbing into our garden fish pond to cool off. Yesterday Lance our big Yellow Labrador dug up the flower bed in search of cold damp soil. Needless to say I wasn't too pleased about that nor was Lenore when she spotted the damage done to her flowers.

This morning when I let the dogs out Lance went to the side deck where there was a little bit of a breeze to cool down. I took a few images of him enjoying himself there in the morning light.

God's blessings to all of you,

chris
