Slightly Forgetful

OOOPS! I forgot I still had a couple more creatures to cover from the "Wild, Wild Woodpile Series". For some reason I was rushing to be done and onto new images and I was going to forget one of our native snails. I had better S-L-O- W down and not forget any other creatures from the woodpile. Several snails were quite small which is good to know. It shows that there is an upcoming population of Banded Snails out there as well. God's love and blessings upon your week, chris All images were created with a Canon 7D and a 100mm macro lens. Lighting was provided by two Alien Bee 1600 studio lights. Camera settings used. Manual mode, ISO 200 1/200th of a sec. F stops varied.

Intimate Landscape

Thank you Lord for the rain! It has been pouring outside off and on hopefully reducing the drought that has hit California. I love the rain but it makes photography a little more difficult. This morning I had an idea for an intimate landscape and with a little bit of help from a Oregon Forestsnail Allogona Townsendiana that I found in our woodpile I was able to create it. At a Snail's Pace

This morning when I was walking back to the house from my photoblind I noticed this snail that had crawled all the way across the driveway under my pickup. You could see its trail all the way. Must have had a hot date to want to crawl so far out in the open.I rescued it from the driveway took its portrait and then put it back out into the forest. it's probably really ticked off at me and there is probably some disappointed lonely snail waiting somewhere for it to show up for their date
