This morning I was cleaning up the computer to clear more space for new images when I ran across this cool neon flower image of the ferris wheel at the carnival.

White Roses

It was on the warm side today. I'll admit I didn't accomplish much today other than some housework and a little archeology in the garage. For most of my day I found a spot between two windows where there was a breeze blowing and read a book. When it was cooler this evening I ventured out and photographed Lenore's roses which are blooming in profusion right now.

A Little Rodeo

Every year Willits puts on Frontier Days for the week around the Fourth of July. Celebrations incclude a fair, dances,a parade and several rodeos. Tonight we went to one of the rodeos. The lighting was pretty sketchy and it got worse as it got darker.By the time we got to the bull riding it was almost impossible to do any photography. Still I managed to capture a few nice images.

Grub Dog

Today Lenore and I are working on the archeological dig in the garage. We are uncovering aspects of life from the 1950s to the present. There seems to be a lot of materials on how to educate children and help them with their speech and learning problems.
Hmnnn... what did these people do for a living?

While we were working Badger must have felt left out or just needed some attention. Suddenly he just started running around the yard fullbore at breakneck speed. It ended with him jumping into the pond and spinning in circles and biting at the moss. Afterwards he settled content on the patio. I guess he burned off the excess energy or whatever he had to do. Maybe we need to do that once in awhile too.

A Royal Discovery

Still working on clearing things out and organizing the garage. Today I discovered a box of wine glasses from when we moved to Willits in 1989. All of the glasses were wrapped in newspaper from the Modesto Bee from the month of June 1989. After sorting out the glasses we wanted to keep I needed a place to put them. My first thought was to clear out the liquor cabinet. As I pulled all the bottles from the shelf I discovered way in the back four unopened bottles of Crown Royal that were still in the box. They were from 1972,73,74 and 1975. There was also an unopened bottle of Seagrams Five star Canadian Whiskey from 1979. Now neither Lenore nor I drink Crown Royal or Whiskey on a regular basis, they were given to me as gifts when I worked as a construction engineer way back in the early 1980’s. So this is some old alcohol. I know nothing about this stuff. Does it age like wine and make it worth more?

Still Cleaning the Garage

I'm still working off and on getting the garage in useable form again. This morning I found a piece of interesting costume jewelry in one of the boxes. Later on I found a small bag of it. My niece April would love all this stuff for her jewelry business. The one piece I found was a crudely cut cameo brooch made by a company called Florenza. I discovered that they made costume jewelry from 1955 through 1981. So this piece is from sometime during that time period.
