More of an Indoor Day
We are finally getting some much needed rain. This morning I went down to the gym for a work out. When I returned I whipped up a batch of Broccli Soup. Just perfect for a rainy day. Next I photographed a Stink Bug I found near the woodpile. Afterwards I set the wee beasty free and now I'm back to cleaning up in the office. Perfect work for a day like this.

Sunset and a Bug or a Harried Day
Today was extremely busy with no time for photography. At the end of the day I glanced out side and noticed the sunset. I went out with Lenore to watch it go down and then after we came in I decided to photograph a beetle I found yesterday on a toy car. Something a little different!
God's blessings upon you,

The Beetles
Living in the forest I just never know what is going to show up next in my yard, woodpile or house. Randy Dorn the contractor that built our house said, "You have got the weirdest bugs up here!" It's true too, we are always finding the strangest insects around here. My insect field guide is pretty well thumbed through from me trying to ID some bug we have found.
Jay left his door open at night allowing a multitude of moths and beetles to come flying in. I had some sort of a borer beetle. (that's the closest ID I can get) come visit my computer screen. Here it is. If you have a solid ID please let me know.
God's loving blesings to you,
chris

Back to Backyard Bugs
I spent about an hour today trying to capture an image of a Bumble Bee Clear Winged Sphinx Moth. I saw just one but it was too far away from me to get anything decent. While I was waiting and looking it gave me plenty of time to capture some of the other denizens of the backyard.

Beetle Mania

Today we got around to stacking our wood for the winter. We typically go through anywhere from two to four cords a winter. It really depends upon how cold of a winter we get. If there is a lot of cold weather and more snow than normal we obviously use more. Now to get to more of the point. Beetles just love the woodpile. You encounter quite a few of them as you stack the firewood. So today Annika and Jay captured a few of them for me and I photographed them this evening using my product photography set up with a white background. I liked the isolated effect it gives them. Let me know what you think. Please leave a comment.
God's blessings to all,
chris
