A Piece of the Rock

Yesterday I didn't do a blog entry. I was really busy working in the office editing images and working on my book. Today I was back at it with the birds again and I created some nice images with a piece of the rock. The rock is a lichen covered piece of quartz. On the way back home I spied a tom turkey out courting his hens. A lot of photographers don't photograph turkeys much because they are so common around here. I'm sometimes of that feeling too. But today for some reason I stopped and took a few images.

Playing With Glass Again

Some of you may have noticed that I really like unusual pieces of glass. Saturday when Lenore and I were at the recycling center I came across a cool vase that Annika (why is it always Annika) was tossing away. I immediately grabbed it so I could photograph it today and this is the result.

Play Day Today

OK, well not exactly a play day. Today I'm cleaning the office and doing work around the house. I saw a pair of my babies tennies lying around where they weren't supposed to be and instantly the photographer in me came out. What if... and here is the end result of that thought.

Genie in the Bottle

I love how ideas just come to you out of the blue sometimes. Annika was cleaning out her room and she had this cool perfume bottle she was tossing out. The moment I saw it I just knew I had to do something with it. I visualized a genie rising up out of it with the bottle sitting on hot dry sand. This afternoon I had some time so I sat down and played with it. The sand I have in the backyard was wet due to the rain so that was out. The next best thing was some brown wrapping paper. I then added in the smoke with the photoshop dodge tool. I looked for a good picture to use for it from my files and I added it over the smoke and then lowered the opacity so you could see through t. I'm really excited about the end result.

A Trip to the Coast

This morning we ventured to Caspar Beach on the coast. The sun was out and it was cold and windy. There were fifteen foot swells coming in and the surf was pretty wild outside of the protected bay we were at.

Some Days I Just Can't Seem to Get A Head

This morning I went out to photograph the birds. Today's photoblog is dedicated to the images I didn't get. The idea came to me when the hostess seated my family and I at a local restaurant. She said."Here you go, the booth with the view of his rear end." For some reason that made me laugh and spurred me onto the theme for the day.

God bless,
