We Saw a Tesla X or They are Getting Closer

While we were in Copenhagen, Denmark on vacation we walked past the Tesla showroom. At first I wanted to keep on walking. But my curiosity got the better of me. We turned around and walked back in. It's fun playing tourist. Also we live in the sticks and rarely see Teslas. The Tesla X was a pretty cool looking vehicle. I really liked the way it looked. I asked the sales person if I could photograph the car. They were like, "Sure click away!" I zoomed my lens back to as wide as it would go and bent down to click and image. Nothing. The batteries to my camera were dead. Luckily I always carry spare batteries. Batteries changed I clicked off an image. I went to make another one and the card on the camera was full! Thankfully I carry spare CF cards. Now back to the car and my thoughts on it. I really loved the clean looks and styling. There was plenty of room for passengers and a nicely laid out interior. I wasn't sold on the gull wing doors for parking lots.It looks like you can't open the doors in narrow spaces. The big question is, "Does the new Tesla had enough range for me to drive to San Francisco Airport and back without being recharged?" I found out that it has a range of 237-289 miles. I live 163 miles from the airport so a round trip is 326 miles. Not good enough yet but they are getting closer! Thanks for the look at your car Tesla. Let it Rain!

Today I'm stuck inside and enjoying the rain. The rain gave me some more time on getting some of our window sills sanded and stained. It also gave me an opportunity to look back at images from last weekends metal mixer. The house doesn't smell that great from the wood stain though. I may have to open a few windows and let it air out. Here are a few images of car parts. It was pretty bright out so I stuck mostly to car interiors and car parts. Celebration of a Small Town Fourth

One of the best things about the celebration of the Fourth of July in the small town of Willits where I reside is the parade. As part of the week long Frontier Days celebration our little town holds a parade down main street which in our case is US Highway 101. The parade includes floats,politicians,cars, tractors, small bands and as would be expected in ranching country a lot of horses. It's fun to see many of your friends an neighbors on parade. I had a wonderful time chatting with old friends and photographing the parade. The day culminated in a soft and delightful sunset over the foggy pacific Ocean. Working Hands

Yesterday afternoon I stopped by the local garage where we have our cars repaired. It's owned by two hard working mechanics and their families that have been doing excellent work on all of our cars over many years. It's a difficult job that requires a lot of education and certifications to get into and maintain. I'm always impressed by their knowledge of so many different types of vehicles. As I was talking to them while they worked I noticed the interesting soft light that was being cast into the work bay. It really made their skin tones stand out. Rainy Day Outside

The heavens opened and I played inside as I'm sick today. Some sort of hopefully 24 hr. flue. Headache and body aches etc. I took out some LED light banks, colored gels and some toy cars. I then tried out some new textures on the images . This one ended up being my favorite in black and white.
