One More Silhouette

What is it about Dandelion heads that photographers love to photograph them? I must admit that I too am not immune to their irresistible pull. There is just something about those repeating patterns that draws me in. Such a soft and delicate spherical shape as well. God's design there is no doubt. Yesterday when I was photographing the scorpion I also photographed a Dandelion seed head in silhouette as well. Something Simple

Something simple for today because I'm home sick with a cold/flue or whatever it is. I have been home bound for the last three days. Reading, binging on TV shows and just lying in bed sleeping. This afternoon i ventured out of door with a bowl of soup. It felt just wonderful to be outside in the sun. Here is a dandelion seed head I discovered in the backyard. Milky Way Rising Above the Redwoods

Last night just before midnight I hatched a plan in my mind to photograph a dandelion in front of the Milky Way. The plan wasn't successful though after a bit of thought I figured out what I need to do to correct the error of my ways. Now that is almost an impossible with out divine intervention. Thank you Lord for providing it. Now back to where I was. I didn't succeed in photographing the dandelion but I did get a nice image of the Milky Way rising up over the redwoods. Randomness of a Rainy Day

Yesterday and today are rainy days. I just photographed some random objects around the house. Badger because he is handy and such a cute dog and a Lake County Diamond because I thought it might be cool. The last item was a dandelion because I wondered what the seed heads looked like when it rains. Now I need to get to work on my book! A rainy day is perfect for working inside. In Another Place and Time

This morning I noticed that the first crop of Dandelions is well under way. Many have bloomed their brilliant yellow blossoms and gone to seed for the people willing to pluck them and blow off the seed heads to make wishes. This evening I photographed one in blue. For some reason it just fit. I'm not sure why, but I just wanted to do it in blue. God's love and blessings to all, chris

Dandelion

Today was one of those days where I had no plan.To be honest I didn't know what I wanted to photograph.Usually I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do. I just kind of floated through the day until I noticed all the dandelions in the backyard. That got my creative juices got flowing. This one was my favorite.

Just Dandy

Today I wanted to get a graphic image of a Dandelion seed head. I had the idea of getting the sun behind it and making it a silhouette with the sun in it. You have to be really careful when doing this to keep yourself from getting your eye damaged by the sun. The idea is to focus on the edge of the dandelion without the sun in it. Take your eye away from the viewfinder and then swing the lens over to where you think the sun will be included and take the image. That's the idea anyway. My eye hurts a little from catching the edge of the sun in the frame. The best way to do it is to use a pair of welding goggles. Next time I'll wait until I have a pair handy.
