OUCH!

This morning Lenore and I had a beautiful walk on one of the country roads on the edge of Willits. It has very little traffic and it is fairly level. Just perfect for walking. While we were walking I spotted a perfect bird perch in a drainage ditch beside the road. It was a broken off branch all covered in moss, lichens and fungi. It was too big to carry around so I came back for it with my pick up after our walk. This afternoon when I was putting it up I jammed a screw driver sized hole in the side of my thumb. Ouch! man did that hurt! I propped up the perch while I went to wash off the blood and get a bandage. While I was walking back I heard a crash. The branch fell and broke into three pieces. Now I have three shorter perches. Here is a Dark Eyed Junco on the end of one of the sections from my backyard photoblind this evening. God's love and blessings to all, chris

  1. My sympathy to your thumb! Hope it is a quick recovery. I just wanted to thank you again for your wonderful photography and posts. I have your blog as my homepage to see each day when I get around to engaging the digital world we all share via the internet. It is a great way to start the day. Many happy moments ahead to you and a great Easter week filled with the infinite and also very finite love of the Creator.

  3. Staples or nails next time instead of screws, eh? Hope it heals up quickly. At least you got a nice Junco shot.

  4. That made me laugh, Mark Yuan! Not sure I can trust my fingers with a hammer around! Staples sound even scarier... Thank you very much for dropping by and commenting. I'll try and be more careful with my fingers next time around.
